My career spans advertising and account management roles with CBS Outdoor, IPM and Pukka Herbs, publishing, and 17 years running my own freelance business. I’ve coordinated campaigns and projects, managed client relationships and supported editors, founders and creative businesses.
My magazine career began at Psychologies, where I worked alongside Editor-in-Chief Suzy Walker as Food & Living Editor, creating print and digital content while supporting the organisation of the magazine. I now work with Suzy on Platinum, editing its monthly gardening pages and writing and curating much of the eight-page Ten Good Ideas section. I’ve also contributed to Top Santé, Women’s Fitness and Heiter magazines.
My wider experience includes coordinating launches, events, awards, contributors, PR contacts, imagery, research and content curation. You can view examples of my editorial work here, or to explore my earlier career, including my roles in advertising and at Pukka Herbs, click here.
My editorial experience covers print and digital content, from developing initial ideas and researching a subject to writing, editing, sourcing imagery and preparing the finished piece for publication.
As Food & Living Editor for Psychologies, I created regular food, books, interiors and lifestyle content and contributed to the magazine’s Real Eco Awards. I now edit Platinum’s monthly gardening pages and write and curate much of its eight-page Ten Good Ideas section, alongside contributing additional features.
For Top Santé, I managed the magazine’s hair and skincare awards, coordinated reader feedback and wrote features, product roundups and travel reviews.
My work has included:
• Writing features, reviews and digital articles
• Researching and curating products, books, recipes and seasonal ideas
• Attending press trips and producing travel features and reviews
• Editing copy to fit house style, word counts and page layouts
• Sourcing imagery and liaising with photographers and PR contacts
• Coordinating contributors, products and editorial deadlines
• Uploading and scheduling website and newsletter content
Much of my work has involved taking responsibility for the practical details behind a project, creating structure, bringing together the right information and people, and following everything through.
I’ve coordinated magazine awards, events, workshops, launches and ongoing client projects, often working independently as the central point of contact between clients, contributors, suppliers and other partners.
This has included:
• Creating project plans and keeping track of actions and deadlines
• Researching markets, audiences, venues and new opportunities
• Coordinating contributors, clients, suppliers and external partners
• Organising workshops, events, launches and editorial awards
• Preparing contracts, invoices, schedules and project documents
• Managing diaries, meetings and client communication
• Identifying what needs attention and following it through
My earlier career in advertising and account management gave me a strong grounding in client relationships, commercial awareness and coordinating work across different teams.
At CBS Outdoor and IPM, I worked with national and international clients and helped deliver advertising campaigns involving colleagues, agencies and suppliers across several markets. I later joined Pukka Herbs as an International Account Manager, working with major retailers and supporting UK and international accounts.
This experience involved:
• Building trusted, long-term client relationships
• Understanding briefs and translating them into clear actions
• Coordinating colleagues, agencies, suppliers and partner organisations
• Preparing presentations, reports and client communications
• Managing several projects and priorities at the same time
• Spotting problems early and finding practical solutions
• Representing clients and brands professionally
I’ve introduced databases, templates and working processes for clients and in my previous roles and am comfortable learning new platforms or fitting into the systems a team already uses.
My experience includes:
• Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail and Calendar
• WordPress and Elementor
• Canva and Shutterstock
• Mailchimp and MailerLite
• Dropbox and Google Drive
• Kajabi, Dubsado and Toggl
• Xero and FreeAgent
• SignWell and online contract systems
• Zoom
