Examples of my work

Below are examples of my magazine work for Psychologies, Top Santé and Platinum magazines. The pieces were researched and written myself, in collaboration with PR teams and brands.

I take editorial projects from the initial idea through to the finished page. I manage the research and writing, source relevant information, products and ideas, and carry out picture research where needed. I then shape and refine the copy, working with editors, PR agencies and design team to bring everything together for publication. I’ve also attended press trips and turned those experiences into travel and lifestyle features.

Not all of my work produces something that can be displayed in a portfolio. Much of my project and experience has happened behind the scenes – organising people and information, managing communications and making sure the practical details are covered so that the finished work can happen.

You can also explore examples from my earlier career, including advertising work for brands such as Boeing, Dubai Tourism and Microsoft, and my time as International Account Manager at Pukka Herbs.

I managed the Top Santé hair and skincare awards for 3 years. This involved co-ordinating the sending out of 5 x products per shortlisted entry to a group of 50 testers, dealing with tester queries, any postage issues, liaising with the developers of the entry process, contacting PRs for hi-res images and product details. Then, collating all the results from all testers and writing the feature up for the magazine. Click image below to read and example of one of the features.

One piece of project work that I can share is the design and build of a website for Hilary Lewis Ruttley. Hilary is a creative director, yoga teacher and barrister with special interest in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. I spent many days at Hilary's home in London when I worked as her PA. One of the projects I managed for Hilary, alongside the brilliant Marianne Hartley (hartleyandsoul.com) and website designer Sue Singer was the build of her first website to promote her varied work.
